Yes, I was born and raised in central Pennsylvania. I have lived in New England for 6 years now. 

If you get a chance, make a trip to Presque Isle State Park on the peninsula just outside of Erie, Pa. Spring and fall are the best times. You will see shorebirds galore, and migrants making the trip across Lake Erie.

Make sure you stop at the Tom Ridge Enviromental  Center just before the entrance to the park for a guide of the birds on the peninsula.

May 9, 10 and 11, 2009 the Festival of the birds at Presque Isle will be going on. More info here: http://www.presqueisle.org/audubon/BirdFestivalSchedule.pdf

		<description>What a nice way to take a Doctor&#039;s appt and turn some of the time into a fun trip!! So glad you took your camera. You really did capture some nice photos of those ducks and of course one of my fav. the nuthatch.. I really don&#039;t know too much about shore birds but hopefully this summer I will get more of a chance to take some pics and learn to id some of those less common ones. Great post.
