Another Snowy Egret? You bet! I love photographing them and watching them catch those tiny little fishes.
Great capture! Great timing! I got close to an Egret catching crayfish, but was not able to get the photo. You did well with this capture.

Thanks Steve!
This one was so intent on feeding that it had no idea that I pulled up in the car. When its back was turned, I got out, used the car as blind and started snapping photos.
Hey John!
What can I say? Jaw-dropping! Great Shot.

Thanks Gunnar!
I need to get a telescopic lens for my rebel — so I can take these kind of shots.
(my little canon powershot has a digital zoom, but you lose clarity — as in the great horned owl chicks)
Occasionally we get a stray egret in our valley. Two years ago there was a lovely pair on the “creek”
This year there is a heron rookery – they made six or seven nests — and then a great horned owl moved into one of them. Interesting to see baby herons and baby owls in the same group of trees.

Thank you Tishia!
I believe it is a small salt water eel. I will change the description under the photo. I watched the egret for over an hour and it had been eating small fish.
I love the clarity of your pictures and I love watching birds though I’ve never tried to photograph them. Thanks for stopping by.

Thank you Kaye!
That is an amazing shot. Not only is the bird beautiful, but it’s mid-bite. That is so cool. Poor fish, but cool picture.
Happy WW from Sara @ the Mostly Wordless Wednesday H.Q.!

That’s the way with me, I try to reply in a timely matter. Sometimes it may take a few days.
If I get 400 comments on a single post, I assure everyone that no matter how long it takes, I will answer every reply. I don’t think getting 400 will happen anytime soon though.
Someone needs to tell him not to talk with his mouth open. LOL Very nice shot. Happy Wordless Wednesday.

Thank you Erica.
It was amazing to watch as the eel was being held at the tip of the Egrets bill, then with a snap of its head the eel flew in mid air and into the Egrets mouth.
Best shot of the Snowy Egret I have ever seen. I have to show this to my birding pal! So cool!

Thank you Kim! I hope your birding pal likes it as much as you do.

But the next time you and your wife are back home in Erie, PA please let Michele and me know. We would love to hook up with you. Have a great weekend.
