Robin;

Yes, you may add the link to your newsletter, and thank you!

Keep checking the link-back checker monthly. It will occasionally turn something up. I run my site on a dedicated server, so I have the added benefit of being able to check my server logs, which is great on picking up on leaching.

In time, you will find people using your images. I think your images are excellent and need protected with at least a small copyright watermark. It's your decision. This subject is so touchy with me, as I can't stand a thief!

I don't put a copyright or watermark on my photos as it is really distracting to the image to me. Also I'm lazy. I ran my site through the checker you referenced and didn't come up with anything. There were numerous sites listed but all of them are folks I know, not anyone stealing anything from me. Now, I'm depressed as I guess without realizing it part of me wanted to find somebody stealing my images. I guess none of them are worth taking! Phew! What a relief. Terrific article and most informative. May I put the link in our camera club newsletter for people to refer to on the subject?

Great post - I place a big watermarked copyright symbol through most of my work to prevent online theft - it works 99.9% of the time...

Cheers from snowy Shetland

Thanks for posting this info. I have protected some images on my blog - images that did not belong to me but that I borrowed with permission, by putting a big stamp on the pictures in an area that cannot be cropped out and would be hard to change by cloning. The picture is still viewable, but not as pretty as the originals. With blogger.com I don't think there are other option and using Digimarc tracking is too expensive for me.
My recent post <a href="http://onejackdawbirding.blogspot.com/2010/01/gloucester-plum-island-salisbury-snow.html" target="_blank">Gloucester - Plum Island - Salisbury: Snow Buntings, Harlequin Ducks and more</a>
