Absolutely awesome photo, love the lighting and soft background. I put out a hummingbird feeder and I saw a hummer visiting for the first time yesterday. I can only hope I get a photo half as good as this one.

Good choice for Wordless Wednesday, because after viewing this photo, I am speechless. What equipment do you use?

…what a perfect and beautiful portrait of the male Ruby-throated Hummingbird! Every feather in his neck is discernible, and his tiny feet are to die for!!!

Nice capture! It’s a beauty. :)

Mine are here and here.

Happy WW!

WOWW!!!! That is really a superb photo. Tack-sharp to the point of being able to see vane detail. Great job – and thanks for sharing your spectacular photos with us!

Shelley, Kelly, Liza;

Thank you! I nearly get ran into by the Hummingbirds everytime I go into the yard.

Brooke, Christopher;

Thanks! I have been waiting for a photo like this for a long time. Now to work on flight shots.

A truly beautiful photo! I love the detail in the feathers on the throat. Also, where you positioned the hummingbird on the branch in the frame is perfect.

Beautiful! I don’t have hummingbird feeders, but they often stop by to check out my red deck flowers.

Awesome shot! I love hummingbirds :)

Thanks for the visit and comment and happy WW!

Such a great photo. So sharp it looks like you can reach out and touch the hummer. I am amazed you caught it sitting on a branch like that. Thanks for your visit and comment on my Osprey photo. Interesting that everyone but you thought it was an Eagle! We have those also, but there is no confusing them even to a complete bird dummy like me so I had not labeled the photo!

Really incredible that you’ve captured a humming bird that way. Thanks for coming by.

Nope…I am not coming back …ever! LOL..
you know what i mean, John.

I have several feeders out. I’ve seen several Rufus. Last year I had Caliope and Black Chinned. I’m sure they are around.

Love love your photo. Just perfect.

Super!
The ruby throat feathers looks like plates of armor.
Great detail.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to comment on my Hummingbird photo. It’s greatly appreciated!

One word would be breathtaking! I love how you picked up the detail of the ruby color on its throat. So pretty

So that’s what they REALLY look like! Fabulous! The only thing missing is the tongue ; )

I am so amazed at the quality of photos you are able to get. They don’t look that good in real life through my binoculars.

Could you guys tell us where you are? I’ve fed and watched hummers for years here in North Carolia, but this year, only one 30 second visit! Did something happen out there? Nothing has changed at my house.
