Last Friday, we were finishing up diner as a thundershower passed over the area. I walked into the living room and saw a beautiful rainbow from the picture window. I immediately grabbed my camera and went outside to take photos of this natural wonder. I thought to myself, “This would be a great capture for Skywatch Friday!”

Enjoy my entry, Rainbow over the Kennebec River, as seen from our back yard here in Bath, Maine.

Beautiful, the rainbow looks like a bridge over the water.

Have a great weekend.

Beautiful skywatch shot. Great capture. You hardly ever catch a rainbow.

That’s a fantastic rainbow. It’s not often you get the chance to catch a whole one and in such a nice setting too.

What a beautiful spot you live in, right on the river. A covetted spot for a new englander. I’m so jealous! No wonder you have all those unusual birds!

Fantastic shot! Time for me to ditch IE8 I know that!

This is pretty. We sure have had enough rain lately here in Maine. I am glad you got something nice out of it.

Spectacular rainbow picture, perfect for Skywatch! I like how the sky looks lighter under the rainbow.

John, that is the shot of a lifetime! Beautiful! If you follow that river north, you will pass by my inlaw’s house!

Stunning! I’ve seen lots of rainbow pictures but yours is so professional!

Isn’t it fun, how the rainbow was placed so conveniently for you, so you could share the beauty with all of us? :) Thanks for paying attention!

Great capture – glad you got up and grabbed your camera! Is the river tidal, or just low at the moment? I was noticing a lot of vegetation in the water and wondered why that was.

hope everyone is having a great birding weekend! My patience was rewarded yesterday – I had my first oriole, a female. Male nowhere to be seen, but she returned to the oranges in the evening, and was in my garden this morning. I put a couple of fresh halves out and she has been feeding on and off all day. Caught a glimpse of the male but he has not been feeding. I am wondering if he has established his territory in another yard, and mama somehow found the food in my yard….hope she keeps coming back.
