  This weeks Skywatch Friday image comes from Bar Harbor, Maine. The view is looking toward Frenchman Bay with Bar Island on the left and Sheep Porcupine Island on the right. In the far distance is the Schoodic Peninsula.

One of my favorite birding spots in all of Maine is Goose Rocks Beach near Kennebunkport. Shorebirds, including the endangered Piping Plover and Least Tern, nest in the marshes behind the beach.
