He’s beautiful! I clicked on your link because I noticed that it said “Maine”- what part of Maine are you from?

Mine’s up

John Briggs Reply:

Thank you Cindy!

I live along the mid-coast on the peninsula south of Bath, Maine.

Very nice capture. Very crisp. It seems like the hawk is posing for your photo.

He’s a beaut! I’m fascinated by hawks. I don’t like that certain hawks kill my little feeder songbirds but they are very regal, as much so as eagles, I think.

Lovely photo!
Is the Ice melting?

Thanks Dawn!

Slowly but surely, it is melting and breaking up.

Lovely photo. I am still learning how to take a good bird photo. Right now I’ve not had time for birding but the migrants are beginning to arrive. I’ll keep my eyes peeled.
We had a Cooper’s Hawk in my backyard a couple of years ago. It was amazing to see. I see bird remnants from time to time so he/she probably still hunts here.

John Briggs Reply:

Thank you Sarala!

I bet the Cooper’s was a sight to behold.

Great shot! I love how you caught him in those beautiful pines! I am curious as to what kind of camera you use?

John Briggs Reply:

Thank you Shelley!

My cameras are a Canon 40D and a Rebel XTI.

A real beauty.

I have a sharp shinned hawk hanging around my yard attacking the birds at the feeder from time to time but I haven’t gotten a photo this nice yet. Love the background.

What a beauty! So different from our SW version here!
